Rocky Mountain Health Plans Insurance for Seniors in Colorado
Rocky Mountain Health Plans specializes in health care plans in Colorado, offering several Medigap Medicare supplement plans for seniors. Unlike other insurance companies which offer multiple types of insurance and serve members across many states, Rocky Mountain Health Plans offers health insurance exclusively, while serving customers only in the Colorado area.
Rocky Mountain offers four Medigap insurance policies for seniors: Medigap Plans A, C, F, and G. Medigap Plan A consists of the basic benefits required by Medicare supplemental insurance plans (see below for overview), while Plans C, F, and G include the Plan A benefits, plus those ranging from coverage of Skilled Nursing coinsurance to coverage of Medicare Part B excess charges.
Because supplemental health insurance companies in Colorado set their own monthly premiums, plans vary in price from insurer to insurer. Knowing how your insurer determines the price of your Medigap plan is important for understanding how much your plan will cost now and in the future. There are three types of pricing structures for Medigap health insurance for seniors: 1) issue-age rated, 2) community rated, and 3) attained-age rated.
Rocky Mountain Health Plans uses the community rated pricing method to set prices for its Medigap policies for Colorado residents. This means that your Medigap premium is not based on your age, and all new members are charged the same monthly premium. While premiums for community rated Medigap policies may be adjusted for inflation or other factors, they will not be adjusted based on your age.

Medigap plans through Rocky Mountain Health Plans allow seniors in Colorado to choose their preferred health care provider for medical treatment. It is not required to choose from a pre-determined provider network. And claim handling is easy: After receiving treatment, your health care provider will bill Medicare; then, the medical bill will be paid by Rocky Mountain.
