Connecticut Medicare Plans from American Progressive Life & Health Insurance Company
American Progressive Life & Health Insurance Company of New York offers 8 out of the 12 Medicare supplemental insurance policies for seniors in Connecticut: Plans A through G, as well as high-deductible Plan F. Medigap plans are referred to by letters A through L, with each policy letter corresponding to a different benefit package.
Plans are regulated by the federal as well as state government, which has led to the standardization of supplemental health insurance plans for seniors throughout the U.S. Standardization means that Medigap policies marked by the same letter offer the same benefits regardless of which insurance company you use, or which state you live in (with a few exceptions).
High-deductible Plan F offers the same benefits coverage as the regular Medigap Plan F, but requires you to pay for the first $1,900 (2008 figure) of medical costs normally covered by Medigap before your Medigap coverage kicks in. The trade off for a higher deductible is a lower monthly premium.
American Progressive Life & Health Insurance has been serving the states of the east coast since 1945, specializing in life insurance and supplemental health insurance for seniors. Their Medigap policy holders receive high-quality service from their Senior Health Services Center, and conveniences include filing your claims over the internet, an unrestricted network of health care providers, and Medigap policies that are guaranteed renewable for life.
American Progressive Life & Health Insurance for seniors also offers Medicare SELECT plans. Medicare SELECT plans offer the same benefits of traditional Medicare supplemental insurance plans, but have a lower monthly premium. In exchange, policy holders are required to choose health care providers from American Progressive's coverage network. Their affililated hospitals and medical practitioners are located throughout the nation.
Medicare SELECT plans available are Plans B, C, D, E, and F. As a policy holder of this economical supplemental health insurance plan, American Progressive Life and Health Insurance for seniors will pay for your Medicare Part A deductible for any care received in an affiliate hospital, and for emergency care received in any U.S. hospital.
