Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Washington Medicare InsuranceAdvantage, Medigap Supplemental and Part D Prescription Drug Plans

Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon are offering Medicare Advantage and Medicare Prescription Drug Plans in local markets across Washington state. The recent introduction of Medicare Part D (offering prescription drug coverage) gives the Blues the opportunity to offer more comprehensive solutions to its retiree members in Washington.

If you're eligible for Medicare in Washington, you can get health coverage through the Original Medicare plan alone. However, many people in Washington find that Original Medicare does not cover all their healthcare needs because many medical services and supplies are not covered.

To help pay for these services and supplies many people in Washington enhance their coverage with a Medicare Supplement (also known as Medigap) plan. Others like the convenience and coverage of a Medicare managed-care plan that provides rich benefits without large plan premiums. In fact, some of these plans, like the plans offered by Blue Shield of California, don't have any additional plan premium at all. Their eight Medicare Supplement Plans help cover the gaps in Original Medicare, such as Parts A and B deductibles, copayments, coinsurance and more.
