Premier Coverage Plans
Premier Coverage Plans from Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico offer the most robust and popular plans, Plan C, Plan F and Plan G, pay the Medicare Part A hospital deductible and copayments, skilled nursing facility copayment and foreign travel emergency care. Of all available standardized plans, Plans F and G offer the most complete protection for uncovered Medicare Part B excess charges. Plan F also covers the Medicare Part B deductible. Plan C covers the Medicare Part B deductible but does not cover Part B excess charges.
Budget-Conscious Plans
High Deductible Plan F, Plan K, Plan L and Plan N include cost-sharing features that allow you to save on premiums while still receiving dependable coverage. High Deductible Plan F features a $2,000 annual deductible before plan benefits begin. Plan N features an office visit and emergency room copayment applicable to each visit. Plans K and L feature cost sharing for covered services under Medicare Part A and Part B. Once your annual out-of-pocket expenses reach the required limit, the plan pays 100% of covered expenses for the remainder of the calendar year.
Reduced Premium Medicare Select Option
All of our plans except Plan A and High Deductible Plan F offer a reduced premium Medicare Select option with the same solid benefits as their standard plan counterparts. Medicare Select is not an HMO. You save on premiums by agreeing to use any of our Medicare Select participating hospitals for non-emergency elective admissions. If you do not use one of these hospitals for your non-emergency admissions, you pay the Part A deductible. With Medicare Select, you are fully covered for emergency care at any hospital, and you can choose your own doctors and specialists. To qualify for Medicare Select, you must live within a 30-mile radius of a Medicare Select participating hospital.
Prescription Drug Coverage Plans
Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico offers Prescription Drug coverage through a Part D Medicare plan called Blue Medicare Rx. Coverage includes two plans you can choose from. Value Plan as its name implies costs less per month. It has a deductible that must be met before coverage begins. It has slightly higher copays for different Tier drugs. Plus Plan has a higher monthly premium but offers greater coverage for seniors who may use prescriptions drugs more often. There is $0 deductible meaning that coverage begins immediately. Copays for all Tiers of drugs are lower than the Value Plan and there is a flat $5 copay for all generic drugs.
