Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa Medicare InsuranceAdvantage, Medigap Supplemental and Part D Prescription Drug Plans

Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield are offering Iowa residents access to Medicare Advantage and Medicare Prescription Drug Plans. The recent introduction of Medicare Part D (offering prescription drug coverage) in Iowa gives the Blues the opportunity to offer more comprehensive solutions to its retiree members in Iowa.

If you're eligible for Medicare in Iowa, you can get health coverage through the Original Medicare plan alone. However, many people in Iowa find that Original Medicare does not cover all their healthcare needs because many medical services and supplies are not covered.

To help pay for these services and supplies many people in Iowa enhance their coverage with a Medicare Supplement (also known as Medigap) plan.
