What Do You Mean It's Not Covered: Other Rights That Continue Beyond the Policy Terms
EXTENSION OF COVERAGE -- Other than for non-payment of premium, when coverage is terminated for reasons stated in the "Termination of an Insured Person" provision or if we should non-renew this policy, we will extend coverage for a continuous injury or sickness for which an insured person is being treated. The extension will be to the earliest of: (1) the date on which treatment is no longer required (2) the date on which the maximum payment is incurred (3) the date which is 90 days after the date on which the insurance should have ended, and (4) the date the coverage under a new policy with us (which has been issued subject to the "Conversion Privilege") becomes effective.
The insurance company will extend coverage for an insured person who is being treated for a continuous injury or sickness if the policy is not renewed or if coverage terminates for a reason other than nonpayment of premium. Coverage will be extended for up to 90 days, or until any earlier date that medical treatment is no longer needed, maximum benefits have been paid, or coverage under a converted policy takes effect.
