In this installment we will look at several articles that deal with COBRA (the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act), which if you're unaware gives laid off workers a chance to extend their health insurance benefits for several months after losing their jobs. While many people use COBRA, it has come under fire for being too expensive, the government seems to be taking steps to make it more affordable, which we will look at in a moment.

This time we will look at two interesting articles that each cover its own topic, rather than several articles coving the same topic. Our first article is entitled, "Analysts say number of uninsured Americans to grow," and comes to us from the Associated Press.

In an economic situation such as ours, with many people being laid off in droves, more and more people are searching for their own solutions to health insurance coverage once they lose employer-based coverage. This week in the Health Insurance News Roundup, we will look at a few articles that discuss how to search for health insurance and the best tips for buying it after being laid off. We've discussed this before, but it's always good to revisit relevant and helpful topics, I feel.

For this edition I found a couple of interesting articles relating to health insurance, reform, and how the price of each affects businesses that have to pay for much of it. Our first article comes from MSNBC and is entitled, "Health care headache for small businesses." The article looks at how businesses, due to the high cost of health coverage, are dropping it entirely.
